Founded in January 2001 on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland by alwin haagner, alwin architects pty ltd is backed with 30 years of industry experience in three different countries, as listed below.

Qualifications :  of Alwin :   best design student all years at university. Graduated with honours (distinction) in 1973 from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

South African Experience :

Two partnerships in early years until Alwin Haagner Architects was founded in 1981.

Projects completed :

Residences : more than 45 in total varying in values up to R1.5million.

Apartments and apartments combined with commercial, also small hotels.

Shopping centres :  single and combined with apartments.

Education : secondary schools for 600 and 800 pupils.

Left South Africa in 1994 to settle in New Zealand.

New Zealand experience :    mid 1994 to mid 1998.

Alwin Haagner Architects registered in Nov. 1994 after passing the N Z registration examination.

Various private residences designed and completed. Multi level apartments designed but never built.

Closed practice in mid 1998 and moved to Townsville , Queensland, Australia.

Australian experience :

Worked for Macks & Robinson Architects for the first 3 months, then joined MacCallum & Partners Architects as senior design architect. Involved in the design of the buildings in the Strand redevelopment on the foreshore. Resigned end of 2000 and moved to the Sunshine Coast and started alwin architects in january 2001. alwin architects changed to alwin architects pty ltd in January 2004.
